Winter Arrived

January 13: Grenadier Pond in High Park; on this unusually warm January day squirrels, Canadian geese, wild ducks could be seen everywhere throughout the park

January 20 (a week later): Grenadier Pond froze, causing some confusion

January 20: it was -10 Celsius, but sunny and calm

January 21: frozen Grenadier Pond; skating started; no squirrels - probably went into hibernation; wild ducks and Canadian geese moved couple hundred meters southbound to Lake Ontario; or they flew South?

Some snow fell on Monday morning, fist snow this season as far as I remember. This is Grenwood Subway Yard on Tuesday, late afternoon.

Stage Frenzy

January 13 was New Year's Eve according to Julian Calendar. Serbs celebrated it at the Kool Haus, where main performer was brass folk orchestra. It included belly dancer.
